About Us

A Little Bit About Us: Gary has been involved in bull terriers for over 20 years. He has fond memories of going to the Trophy Show at White Waltham when Raymond Oppenheimer hosted the prestigious event. Gary's first champion was Ch. Apache Brave of Kilacabar. Radar was the largest UK champion ever and has produced some quality puppies including Ch. Apache Dancer.

Andrea has been an avid dog and animal lover her whole life. Growing up, her family bred and showed champion Dachshunds. Having met her first Bull Terrier when she was five years old, the happy, clownish bully was forever imprinted in her mind. Years later, when Andrea decided to get back into showing, she knew what breed she wanted to share her life with. She got her first bull terrier from a top Silverwood winning kennel, and although Star did not turn out as she would have hoped, Star's virtues hooked Andrea on the breed.

We obviously met because of our love of the breed at where else, but a dog show! Together, we started our affix UKUSA (UK for Gary who's a Brit and USA for Andrea who's from California) - pronounced you-coo-za. We've been lucky to have a foundation bitch, Sophie (Kiss the Stars over Kilacabar), who has a tremendously wonderful temperament and has consistently produced well made, healthy, sound, big- boned puppies.

For the last eight years, we have endeavored to chronicle the breed through the BULL TERRIER YEARBOOK. We've been pleased with the response we have received from our 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009 Yearbooks and are happy that the Yearbook is now in over 35 countries around the world! We're hard at work on our 8th edition, and hope it is the success that the past Yearbooks have been!

Andrea is proud to have served on the South Eastern Counties Bull Terrier Club committee since 2003, first as the editor and then later becoming the Show Manager and Judge's Subcommittee chairman. .

Last but not least, we are proud of our most recent accomplishments, our Regent Trophy win with CH Ukusa Cosmopolitan, and of course, making her into a UK Champion!! We are also proud of the success our friends have had with our BTs - NL CH Ukusa Ultimate Joys, Eurowinner/Int/Sp/Port CH Ukusa Diablo of Dazlin, Pol CH Ukusa Rapscallion, Ch CH Ukusa Andromeda, Ur/Br CH Ukusa Hurricane, & Ven CH Ukusa Samurai. Fingers crossed for continued success with ours and friends' Ukusa bullies!
